Founded in 1996, Art Lovers is an art enrichment program offered to Chicago Elementary School.

Art Lovers is the service learning component of Effective Speaking, a required course for all Illinois Institute of Art (ILIC) students.

The college students are given the opportunity to apply their newly acquired public speaking skills in a community outreach program by offering a one hour art enrichment program to the elementary students. An artist and one of the artist's related works are discussed followed by a art related activity.

The goal of the program is to share the students' love of art with the children and to instill in the children their own love of art and the enjoyment of creating regardless of their natural artistic ability.

It is truly a win-win situation for all participants.
